Cancer Treatment Options
Chemotherapy
The most well-known form of cancer treatment. By delivering the treatment drugs into the bloodstream via intravenous drip, or via orally administered chemotherapy in the form of pills or capsules, chemotherapy weakens or kills fast dividing cells like cancer cells. Any side effects will be actively managed together with the specialist team.
Targeted Therapy
A type of cancer treatment that goes straight to the root of the cancer’s mutation by targeting the environment that helps the cancer grow. It allows the patient a better quality of life through oral medication and generally fewer side effects. *Only available for certain cancer types.
Immunotherapy
A type of cancer treatment that assists the body’s natural immune system to fight cancer. The immune system normally fights infection and other diseases. Immunotherapy treatments help the immune system destroy cancer cells, stop them from spreading to other parts or slow/ stop the growth of cancer cells.
Radiotherapy
Using high-energy rays, cancer is treated by killing cancer cells or slowing their growth by damaging their DNA. The body then removes the broken-down damaged cancer cells. Some normal cells may get damaged, but will usually recover in time, unlike the cancer cells, which will be beyond repair.
Cancer Surgery
With the help of our trusted doctors, cancer surgery treats cancer by removing the tumour and nearby tissue during an operation. As the oldest type of cancer treatment, it is still effective to treat many types of cancers today.
Dietary Care
Dietary care is a component of cancer treatment that can help manage symptoms and improve overall health. A balanced diet can provide the necessary nutrients to support the immune system, prevent weight loss, and improve energy levels. Our partner dietitians, such as from Singapore Cancer Society, can work with patients and our healthcare team to develop a personalized nutrition plan that meets their specific needs and goals.
Hormonal Therapy
Hormones are proteins or substances that the body naturally makes to help control certain types of cells to work. Some cancer types need these hormones to grow. By blocking or altering the hormones in one’s body, Hormonal Therapy can slow or stop the growth of cancer types.
Palliative Care
Palliative care focuses on improving the quality of life of those who have been suffering from cancer symptoms (such as fatigue, nausea, difficulty sleeping, etc.) From pain management therapies like medicines, relaxation techniques, and acupuncture, to comforting emotional support and even helping our patients navigate what can be a very complex and confusing health care system, we aim to help our patients achieve their best qualify of life possible.
We Make A Difference Together
Every patient is a human-being first and foremost.
